Medical Necessity Criteria
Medical Necessity RCSU: Individuals qualifying for services typically present with acute behavioral health symptoms, such as suicidal ideation, mood instability, or psychosis, resulting in impaired functioning and safety concerns. They are unable to be safely managed in a less restrictive level of care due to impaired judgment and limited coping capacity. Admission to a Residential Crisis Stabilization Unit (RCSU) is medically necessary to provide 24-hour supervision, psychiatric evaluation, medication management, and therapeutic support to promote stabilization and reduce risk of harm. We determine medical necessity through the intake assessment to ensure the individual meets criteria for this level of care and to support a safe transition to a lower level of care.
Here for You. Every Step of the Way.
Our mission is to provide compassionate, high-quality stabilization services that empower individuals to achieve wellness and build a stronger tomorrow.
